How to Uninstall Cotypist

Removing Cotypist from your Mac is straightforward:

1. Open Cotypist’s menu bar icon and choose Quit Cotypist.
2. Drag the Cotypist.app bundle to the Trash. (Cotypist usually lives in /Applications.)
3. If you also want to erase Cotypist’s settings, local data, and downloaded models, delete ~/Library/Application Support/app.cotypist.Cotypist. You can reach it from Finder’s Go › Go to Folder… menu. Cotypist’s AI models live inside that folder, in the Models subdirectory — removing the whole folder reclaims that disk space.

Re-enable macOS text predictions

If you accepted Cotypist’s offer during setup to turn off macOS’s built-in inline predictions (so the two wouldn’t fight over the same suggestion space), you can switch the system feature back on after uninstalling:

1. Open System Settings › Keyboard.
2. Next to Text Input, click Edit… under Input Sources.
3. Turn Show inline predictive text back on, then click Done.
